WPC Legacy

Programs and Services

Our nonprofit’s vision is to offer a community center to families within our neighborhoods.
Listed below are some of our nonprofit’s core programs:
  • Tutoring Classes: Assisting children who need help in academics by offering after-school help.

  • “Read to Succeed” book clubs designed to teach a love for reading and develop children’s comprehension.

  • Historical Landmark: Completing the process of getting the campus declared a historical landmark and creating a museum that will inform the community of the accomplishments of their forefathers and the legacies left by them in our parish.

  • Financial Literacy Classes: These classes will provide essential information about financial planning and budgeting so that families can make sound financial decisions for their children’s education and future.

  • Workforce Development Services: These services help prepare individuals for jobs, by teaching them essential skills such as filling out applications, resume writing, interviewing techniques, and job search strategies.

  • Elderly Daycare: A program where the elderly can come for companionship with people of all ages and ethnicities, playing games, receiving nutritious snacks and other activities.

  • Homeless Assistance: Offering meals and housing for people who are temporarily displaced.

  • GED Training: The center will offer programming to equip students with the skills necessary for achieving high school graduation.

  • Small Business Seminars

  • Planting and growing a Community Garden

All neighborhoods in the surrounding Winn Parish areas will be welcomed to our services.

We believe that by offering free programs such as financial literacy seminars, workforce development services and the others listed above, Winn Pinecrest Collaboration will help break the cycle of poverty by equipping individuals with the skills needed for achieving economic stability and restoring a sense of community.
